E book Special Education Behavioral Basics; 6 Steps to Improving Your Child's School Behavior!

Excerpt from Introduction to Behavioral Basics

This E book is for anyone who lives and works with children with disabilities that have behavioral difficulties. While this E book focuses on behavioral difficulties at school this information can be used across all environments. It is my hope that parents, special education personnel and advocates alike will learn new skills to better enable them to deal with unacceptable behaviors in a positive manner.

This E book will begin by discussing behavior in general, things that you must understand about behavior, before starting the process to improve your child's school behavior. Next to be covered will be the 6 steps to improving your child's school behavior. These 6 steps are research based using functional behavioral assessment/analysis (FBA) and positive behavioral supports and plans needed to increase positive behavior in your child, which will decrease any current negative behaviors. Special education personnel can also benefir from this information (feel free to share it with them).

Does your child have negative behavior at school that interferes with their education?

Are you called by special education personnel several times a month, because of your child's misbehavior?

Would you like to learn 6 steps that you can be involved in, that will help improve your child's school behavior?

Then this E book is for you!! I have used these 6 steps for the children that I have advocated for, and seen major improvement in their school behavior.

Throughout the E book I discuss the huge connection between behavioral difficulty and academic difficulty!! Sometimes changing instruction methodology or making adaptations helps to decrease negative behavior.

Behavioral Basics gives you all the information that you need to proactively be involved with your child's behavior and education. Many special education personnel would rather punish a child, rather than figure out why the behavior
is occuring and also how to improve the behavior.

As a parent you can use the information in this E book  to help improve your child's school behavior. If your child's behavior improves so will their education.

1. You have an E-Book on the topic of behavior. What led you down this path!
Yes the E-Book is entitled: Behavioral Basics; 6 Easy Steps to Improving a Child's School Behavior! This E-Book is based on the research based method of functional behavioral analysis (FBA), and use of positive behavioral supports and plans.

Many years ago when my daughter Angelina was young, she experienced a lot of negative school behavior. I was so frustrated because I did not know what to do to improve her behavior. I began attending a lot of conferences and received training from behavioral experts, about the best practice way to improve Angelina's positive behavior. One thing I learned is that children with disabilities must be taught appropriate behavior; I also learned about functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral plans, which research shows is the only way to make positive behavioral improvements over the long term.

Over the years as an advocate, I have
taught many parents the information that I learned years ago, which I have put into 6 Easy Steps in my E-Book. Also the E book has a lot of wonderful resources and advocacy tips for parents and educators.

This E book can be used by parents and educators to improve a child's school behavior. It ismy hope that parents and educations will work together to improve children's school behavior, so that they can achieve educational success!
